RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -209 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE ACCEPTANCE <br /> OF A DONATION OF TWO (2) TREES INCLUDING INSTALLATION <br /> FROM DOUBLETREE BY HILTON OCEAN POINT RESORT & SPA <br /> FOR PLACEMENT IN TOWN CENTER PARK; AUTHORIZING THE <br /> CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br /> EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is continually beautifying its parks for the <br /> enjoyment of its residents and visitors; and <br /> WHEREAS, Doubletree by Hilton Ocean Point Resort & Spa wishes to donate to the <br /> City two (2) trees including installation, valued at Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00), for <br /> placement in Town Center Park with continued maintenance by the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, two (2) Coccoloba Diversifolia trees, also known as Pigeon Plum trees, <br /> were selected and will replace two trees in Town Center Park that did not survive the transplant <br /> from Samson Oceanfront Park; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City exercises its authority to accept donations as a non-profit <br /> municipal corporation. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: <br /> Section 1. Ratify Acceptance of the Donation. The City Commission hereby ratifies <br /> acceptance of the donation of two (2) trees including installation from Doubletree by Hilton <br /> Ocean Point Resort & Spa for placement in Town Center Park. <br /> Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br /> things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br /> Section 3. Effective Date.
