RESOLUTION NO. 2013- O$ <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br /> MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO SIGN OR RENEW ALL <br /> REQUIRED CONTRACTS, AGREEMENTS, AND PURCHASE <br /> ORDERS THAT AFFECT THE HEALTH, SAFETY, OR WELFARE <br /> OF THE CITY, DURING THE SUMMER RECESS PERIOD FROM <br /> THE LAST CITY COMMISSION MEETING IN JULY 2013 <br /> THROUGH THE FIRST REGULAR COMMISSION MEETING IN <br /> SEPTEMBER 2013, SUBJECT TO AFTER-THE-FACT <br /> RATIFICATION AT THE SEPTEMBER 19, 2013 CITY COMMISSION <br /> MEETING, AND REQUIRING LEGAL REVIEW BY THE CITY <br /> ATTORNEY FOR SAID CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS; <br /> PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach City Commission is not scheduled to meet between <br /> July 18, 2013 and the next regular meeting September 19, 2013; and <br /> WHEREAS, there may be new or existing contracts that require approval during the time <br /> period between the last City Commission meeting in July 2013 and the first regular meeting in <br /> September 2013; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to assign certain powers to the City Manager <br /> or his Designee to enable them to sign all required contracts, agreements, and purchase orders <br /> that affect the health, safety, or welfare of the City, during the time period between the last City <br /> Commission meeting in July 2013 and the first regular meeting in September 2013, and requiring <br /> legal review by the City Attorney for said contracts and agreements; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager will report back to the City Commission at the first <br /> regular City Commission meeting on September 19, 2013, seeking after-the-fact ratification of <br /> any actions relating to the aforestated authorizations. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: <br /> Section 1. Authority of City Manager or Designee. The City Manager or his Designee is <br /> hereby authorized to sign or renew all required contracts, agreements, and purchase orders that <br /> affect the health, safety, or welfare of the City during the summer recess period, from the last <br /> City Commission meeting in July 2013 through the first regular City Commission meeting in <br /> September 2013, subject to after-the-fact ratification at the September 19, 2013 City Commission <br /> meeting, and requiring legal review by the City Attorney for said contracts and agreements. <br /> Section 2.
