ABOUT SMDS K X11 1 l I savonarni[ter D E S I G N S T U D 1 0 LANDSCAPE ARCNIIECTURE 1 URBAN DESIGN I ARC4ITECTUPE SAVINO MILLER DESIGN STUDIO (SMDS) provides professional consulting services in the fields of Landscape Architec- ture, Architecture, Urban Design, and Planning. The studio's strength lies in its multi - disciplinary experience and collabo- rative approach to open space design. Our work includes projects in urban design, streetscape design, site and community planning, residential, commercial, hotel /resort, and park design. SMDS began in 1988 and incorporated in 1993 under the partnership of Adriana Savino & Barry Miller. Our initial work focused on gardens, open space improvements, color schemes for Deco buildings and gate designs throughout Miami Beach's Art Deco District. Since 1993, Savino & Miller Design Studio has expanded its scope of work to include public sector projects such as Streetscape Master plans, Urban Design Guidelines, Master Plans, City Hall /Community Centers, Schools, Libraries, Parks, and private sector work including Hotels, Condominiums, Resorts and small scale Architecture/ Interior Space Planning. ay, the firm is well established in South Florida where it continues to work on a diverse range of projects, varied in scale theme. The firm's collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is exemplified in the successful completion of South Point Park and Belle Isle Park; 41st Street Bridge and Streetscape Master Planning, Espanola Way, Washington Avenue Street - scape, and Alton Road Golf Course Streetscape; Royal Palm Crowne Plaza Hotel, Costa O'Este; Aventura City Hall, Sunny Isles Beach City Hall, North Miami Beach Police Facility; Johnson & Wales University, HHH Cypress Bay School, Chris- topher Columbus High School, and Miami -Dade County High School Prototypes; Marquard Residence, Korge Residence, Sanchez Residence, Subotnick Residence; and affordable housing projects. Our award - winning projects are a reflection of our firm's dedication to provide design services for a diverse clients scale and type. These include the 1999 FLASLA Award of Merit for the Marquard Residence, the 2007 APA Gold Coast Chapter Award of Excellence for the Homestead Bayfront Park Master Plan, the 2010 FNGA Award of Excellence for South Pointe Park, and the 2007 FLASLA Award of Excellence and the 2007 Frederic B. Stresau Award for the Korge Residence. Current projects include Museum Park, the SLS /Ritz Plaza Hotel, Surfside Community Center, Matheson Plantation Village (Crandon Park), Aventura Professional Tower, Biscayne Pointe Neighborhood Streetscape Master Plan, Venetian Islands Streetscape Master Plan and various condominium /residential projects.
