Russo, City Manager J <br /> DATE: September 19, 2013 <br /> RE: Approving a charitable contribution to the Sunny Isles Beach Social Seniors <br /> Events, Inc. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> This Resolution is presented for your consideration. <br /> REASONS <br /> The Sunny Isles Beach Social Seniors Events, Inc. ("Social Seniors") is a 501(c)(3) charitable <br /> organization that offers monthly social and recreational gatherings for senior citizen residents and <br /> guests alike. The City wishes to continue its tradition of giving contributions to charitable <br /> organizations within the City, and wishes to give a charitable contribution for 2013-2014 Fiscal <br /> Year to Social Seniors in the amount of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) as a matching <br /> contribution, plus any remaining funds (after deduction of expenses) in the City account for <br /> Fiscal Year 2012-2013, subject to the following terms and conditions: <br /> 1. The City shall donate $10,000.00 charitable contribution to Social Seniors as a match <br /> to the first $10,000.00 raised by Social Seniors from its gross revenues which includes <br /> but is not limited to sponsorships, donations, memberships fees, and fees for events <br /> and programming; <br /> 2. The City shall provide Social Seniors with any remaining funds collected by Social <br /> Seniors during the Fiscal Year 2012-2013 provided that expenses incurred by the City <br /> for assisting the incorporation of Social Seniors as a non-profit are deducted from <br /> such funds; <br /> 3. The $10,000.00 charitable contribution shall be contributed quarterly, i.e. $2,500.00 <br /> per quarter; <br />
