Russo, City Manager <br />Helen Gray, PE, City Engineer <br />DATE: 11/21/2013 <br />RE: A Resolution Approving a Contract with RJ Behar & Company, Inc. <br />to Provide a Design- Criteria Package for the Pedestrian Overpass <br />Bridge at Gateway Park <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends City Commission approve the Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />Step 1 of a two step process to construct a pedestrian overpass bridge to <br />Gateway Park from the north over westbound Sunny Isles Boulevard was <br />advertised and is to be delivered by Design -Build methodology has been <br />completed. The City received responses from three firms or teams. In <br />accordance with Florida Statutes Section 287.055 (Consultants' Competitive <br />Negotiation Act) and the City's Request for Qualifications, all proposers will be <br />invited to submit a cost proposal for the project based upon requirements and <br />parameters detailed in the Design- Criteria package.
