RESOLUTION NO. 2013 - 215-5 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE <br />PURCHASE OF DIESEL FUEL FROM MACMILLAN OIL <br />COMPANY OF FLORIDA, INC., FOR THE 2,000- GALLON <br />ABOVE GROUND TANK LOCATED ON THE SOUTHWEST <br />PORTION OF GOVERNMENT CENTER, IN AN AMOUNT <br />NOT TO EXCEED SEVENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS <br />($70,000.00) ANNUALLY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on March 15, 2007 via Resolution No. 2007 -1062, the City Commission <br />approved the purchase and installation of a diesel fuel pump to keep the City's emergency fuel <br />supply fresh and to be used for the City's buses and street sweeper; and <br />WHEREAS, on January 20, 2011 via Resolution No. 2011 -1662, the City Commission <br />approved an Agreement with Macmillan Oil Company of Florida, Inc. for the purchase of diesel <br />fuel for the 2,000 gallon above ground tank located on the southwest portion of Government <br />Center, in an amount not to exceed Sixty -Five Thousand Dollars ($65,000.00) annually; and. <br />WHEREAS, on April 19, 2012 via Resolution No. 2012 -1896, the City Commission <br />approved an Agreement with Macmillan Oil Company of Florida, Inc. for the purchase of diesel <br />fuel for the 2,000 gallon above ground tank located on the southwest portion of Government <br />Center, in an amount not to exceed Sixty -Five Thousand Dollars ($65,000.00) annually, and. <br />WHEREAS, the City now wishes to continue the agreement for a third year with <br />Macmillan Oil Company of Florida, Inc. for the purchase of diesel fuel, piggybacking from <br />Miami -Dade County RFP No. 683, for the 2,000 gallon above ground tank located on the <br />southwest portion of Government Center, in an amount not to exceed Seventy Thousand Dollars <br />($70,000.00) annually. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval of Purchase. The City Commission hereby approves the purchase of <br />diesel fuel from Macmillan Oil Company of Florida, Inc. for the 2,000 gallon above ground tank <br />located on the southwest portion of Government Center, in an amount not to exceed Seventy <br />Thousand Dollars ($70,000.00) annually. <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br />Section 3. Effective Date.
