Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting October 17, 2013 City of Sunny Isles Beach. Florida the first one is for the purchase order carryovers, and upon completion of the closure of the books we will have a second Ordinance that again will increase the appropriations for carryover projects that may not have been obligated yet but will have to be carried over. Public Speakers: None Commissioner Gatto moved and Commissioner Scholl seconded a motion to approve the proposed Ordinance on first reading. The motion was approved by a roll call vote of 5- 0 in favor. Second reading, public hearing will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. Vote: Commissioner Gatto ves Commissioner Levin ves Commissioner Scholl ves Vice Mayor Aelion ves Mayor Edelcup ves 7C. An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida; Amending Chapter 129 of the City Code Entitled "Communication Facilities" to Prohibit the Installation of Wireless Telecommunication Antennas or Facilities on the Exterior Nall of any Building or Structure; Providing for Severability; Providing for Repeal of Conflicting Provisions; Providing for Inclusion in the Code; and Providing for an Effective Date. Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and City Attomey Ottinot reported the purpose of the Ordinance is to close the loophole with respect to installation of telecommunication facilities on rooftops. Public Speakers: None Commission Scholl asked about satellite dishes, and City Attorney Ottinot said that is a separate Ordinance that we have on the books. Satellite dishes are permitted within a certain area of the balcony, they just can't be installed outside the permitted areas. Commissioner Scholl asked if existing facilities are grandfathered in, and City Attorney Ottinot said ves, this is going forward. Vice Mayor Aelion said the purpose of this is an objective purpose or an aesthetic purpose. and City Attorney Ottinot said it is primarily an aesthetic purpose. Commissioner Scholl moved and Vice Mayor Aelion seconded a motion to approve the proposed Ordinance on first reading. The motion was approved by a roll call vote of 5- 0 in favor.
