Russo, City Manager <br />FROM: Susan Simpson, Cultural and Community Services Director <br />DATE: 1/16/2014 <br />RE: Resolution to Approve an In -Kind Donation to North Miami Beach <br />Little League <br />0 RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached resolution to <br />support the North Miami Beach Little League baseball program with an in -kind <br />donation of free use of the baseball field. This in -kind donation has an estimated <br />value of Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00). <br />REASONS: <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach is committed to providing a variety of high quality <br />cultural and recreational programs for all ages of the community. Partnering with <br />North Miami Beach Little League will add another program for the community <br />without out -of- pocket expenses to the City. <br />North Miami Beach Little League is a quality, recreational baseball program. <br />They utilize the services of volunteers and rely on donations, both monetary and <br />in -kind, to keep the registration fees reasonable for the players. Our in -kind <br />donation will further their efforts to provide a quality baseball program to our <br />community. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br />The City is unable to accommodate all of the hours requested due to City <br />programs already planned and advertised for the field.
