City of Sunny Isles Beach
18070 Collins Avenue
Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160
(305) 947 -0606 City Hall
(305) 949 -3113 Fax
MEMORANDUM
TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Commission
VIA: Christopher J. Russo, City Manager
FROM: Susan Simpson, Cultural and Community Services Director
DATE: 2/20/2014
RE: Donation and Naming of Playground at Intracoastal Park
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached resolution to
accept a donation of a fully equipped playground at Intracoastal Park from the
Dezer Family in the amount of One Hundred, Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000)
which would include naming the playground, the Dezer Family Playground.
REASONS:
Intracoastal Park, a linear park south of Sunny Isles Blvd., is designed to be a
small neighborhood park for the residents of the south end of Sunny Isles Beach.
The Dezer Family, developers of several condominium towers in Sunny Isles
Beach, recognizes the need for community parks for the residents enjoyment.
They have offered to partner with the City by donating the playground to this new
park. In honor of their generous donation, the playground will be named the
Dezer Family Playground.
The Dezer Family Playground will be located on the south end of the park. It will
include a shade cover, play equipment and safety surfacing.
FUNDING SOURCE:
No funding required for approval of this resolution.
ATTACHMENTS:
.
