Gateway Park Center PERKINS+WILL <br /> 810495.00 <br />12/06/18 <br />033000-12 Cast-In-Place <br />Concrete <br />D.Duties of the Owner’s Testing Agency: <br />1.Reports: The Testing Agency shall prepare daily reports of the concrete <br />work including progress and description/area of work, tests made and <br />results. The daily reports shall be collected and delivered to the Design <br />Professionals and Owner weekly. <br />2.Concrete Strength Spreadsheet Log: The Test Agency shall maintain a <br />log that contains the results of all concrete strength tests. The log shall <br />include the results of each test performed, be in electronic spreadsheet <br />format, and updated and submitted along with concrete test data. See <br />example log attached at the end of this Specification Section. <br />3.Rejection: The Owner’s Testing Agency has the right to reject any <br />material, at any time, when it is determined that the material or <br />workmanship does not conform to the Contract Documents. The Testing <br />Agency shall immediately notify the Owner, Design Professionals, and <br />Contractor of deficiencies. <br />4.Remedial Work: The Testing Agency shall indicate to the Contractor <br />where remedial work must be performed and will maintain a current list of <br />work not in compliance with the Contract Documents. This list shall be <br />submitted to the Design Professionals and Owner on a weekly basis. <br />5.Certification: When all work has been approved by the Testing Agency, <br />the Testing Agency shall certify in a letter to the Design Professionals and <br />Owner that the installation is in accordance with the design and <br />E.Field Quality Assurance <br />1.General: The Owner’s Testing Agency shall test and inspect concrete <br />materials and operations as Work progresses. Failure to detect any <br />defective work or material shall not in any way prevent later rejection <br />when such defect is discovered nor shall it obligate the Design <br />Professional for final acceptance. <br />2.Owner’s Testing Agency is responsible for monitoring concrete placement <br />as follows: <br />a)Owner’s Testing Agency shall provide qualified personnel at site <br />to monitor concreting operations as follows: <br />i.Verify use of required design mix <br />ii.Record location of point of concrete discharge of each <br />batch truck tested, cross referenced to grid lines. <br />iii.Record temperature of concrete at time of placement. <br />iv.Record weather conditions at time of placement, including <br />temperature, wind speed, relative humidity, and <br />precipitation. <br />v.Record types and amounts of admixtures added to <br />concrete at the project site. <br />vi.Record amount of water added at the site and verify that <br />total water content does not exceed amount specified in <br />the mix design. Addition of water at the site is subject to <br />prior approval by the Design Professional.
