EXECUTIVE SUMMARYThe law firm of Nabors, Giblin & Nickerson, P.A. ("NG&N" or "firm") is pleased torespond to the City's Request for Proposals for Professional Legal Services as specified in theRFP, and believes that we are uniquely suited to serve as the legal counsel for the City of SunnyIsles Beach. As legal counsel, our mission would entail the following:® Protect the legal interests of the City of Sunny Isles Beach in alt legal matters;a Serve as the primary legal advisor to the Mayor, City Commission, City Managerand the City Staff;» Provide quality and timely legal advice, representation, and opinions;a Ensure that all civil litigation involving the City is processed in a professional,effective, and efficient manner; and® Assist the City in the enforcement of City ordinances and policies and in theorderly performance of City business.Fulfilling this mission requires NG&N to provide a wide range of legal services to the Cityin the following practice areas: Contracts and Torts, Procurement and Purchasing,Constitutional Law, Employment and Labor, Public Law, Litigation and Appellate/Administrative, Finance, Land Use, Planning and Environmental, Real Estate and Utilities.As will be demonstrated in this proposal, NG&N has the knowledge/ experience andexpertise to serve the City in all of these critical functions. We welcome the opportunity toestablish and strengthen a relationship with the City of Sunny Isles Beach.Qualifications and Experience ofNabors, Giblin & Nickerson, P.A.NG&N has been representing counties, cities, special districts, and governmentalauthorities since the law firm was organized in 1984. One of the distinguishing characteristics ofNG&N is its extensive representation of Florida local governments and the historicalparticipation by its attorneys in shaping Florida local government statutory and case law. Suchexperience began with the creation of the constitutional and statutory home rule powers ofcounties and municipalities in the 1968 constitutional revision as further implemented bygeneral law in the early 1970s. This experience and historical perspective is unparalleled in anyother law firm.Any firm can identify problems for clients.
