Rosengarten Richard is an Associate in the Litigation Division, focusing on municipal and commercial litigation and appeals. A Miami native, he represents local governments in a wide variety of matters, including those concerning commercial disputes, land use, law enforcement, discrimination, and torts. His civil litigation practice also includes private sector contract disputes, complex civil litigation, and reaI property matters. Before joining Weiss Serota, Richard served as a federal law clerk to the Honorable James Lawrence King of the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida. While in University of Miami School of Law, Richard served as editor-in-chief of the University of Miami Law Review, and worked as a Dean's Fellow teaching property law to first-year students. He had the privilege of attending the Duke -Geneva Transnational Institute during the summer of 2011, where law students from all over the word studied constitutional and comparative law together in Geneva, Switzerland, including a course on the separation of powers taught by Justice Antonin Scalia. Richard has a passion for writing and publishing, and before law school served as editor-in-chief of The Original magazine in Pittsburgh, PA.
