Public Hearing: <br /> An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Amending <br /> Chapter 265"Zoning" Section 265-36 "Neighborhood Business(B-1)Zoning District" <br /> to Clarify that Storage Facilities are Conditional Uses Within the B-1 Zoning District; <br /> Providing for Severability; Providing for Inclusion in the Code; Providing for Repealer of <br /> Conflicting Provisions; and Providing for an Effective Date and Applicability. <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and City Attorney Ottinot reported noting that the <br /> Ordinance was requested by Mayor Edelcup. The purpose of this Ordinance is to allow the <br /> City Commission to treat storage facilities in the B-1 Zoning District as Conditional Use to <br /> mitigate the negative impact such use may have on the neighboring property. He also noted <br /> that in parts of the B-1 Zoning District storage facilities are prohibited, but there are certain <br /> parts of it, 174th to 178th Street, where they are permitted. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Vice Mayor Aelion moved and Commissioner Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br /> proposed Ordinance on first reading. The motion was approved by a roll call vote of 5- <br /> 0 in favor. An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Amending <br /> Chapter 104 of the City Code of Ordinances Commonly Known as the "Art in Public <br /> Places" Ordinance; Providing for Repealer; Providing for Severability; Providing for <br /> Inclusion in the Code; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> (First Reading 12/19/13; Deferred from 01/16/14) <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and City Attorney Ottinot noted that this Ordinance <br /> was deferred at the January 16,2014 meeting.
