Russo, City Manager <br />FROM: Susan Simpson, Cultural & Community Services Director <br />DATE: 3/20/2014 <br />RE: In -Kind Donation to Kiwanis Club for K -Kids Breakfast Event <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached resolution to <br />support the Kiwanis fundraising event, K -Kids Breakfast, with in -kind support in <br />an estimated amount of Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars ($750.00). <br />REASONS: <br />Kiwanis Club of North Miami Beach & Sunny Isles Beach is dedicated to raising <br />funds to benefit the children of the Sunny Isles Beach community. This <br />fundraising event, the Pancake Breakfast, is a ticketed event, open to students <br />and their parents, and is proposed to take place on Sunday, May 4th, from 9am - <br />11:30am. The estimated in -kind amount is based on a standard four -hour facility <br />rental (to include time for set -up and breakdown) of the first floor multi - purpose <br />room at Pelican Community Park. The group has also requested use of our <br />sound equipment, which is a standard rental option, as well. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br />The in -kind donation from the City will include the free use of the facility as well <br />as the sound equipment for the event. <br />FUNDING SOURCE: <br />There is no funding needed for this resolution. <br />Agenda Item No IOE <br />Date 3/20/2014 <br />142 <br />
