<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach | RFP Design-Build Newport Fishing Pier Pavilion Shade Structure 19-11-02 21 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Section 3 <br />Scope of Services / Technical Specifications <br /> <br />3.1 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach, FL (“OWNER”) is seeking to retain a qualified (“CONTRACTOR” or <br />“PROPOSER”) capable of providing all services specified herein located at 16501 Collins Avenue. <br />The Newport Fishing Pier is open for fishing and walking for a small fee, open 24/7. This RFP is for <br />a Design/Build contract. The City is seeking bids for the fabrication and installation of pavilions and <br />benches that provide a seaside decorative artsy theme, Contractor shall submit designs and <br />installation pricing for permitting and construction of 11 pavilions on the Newport Pier for shade <br />cover and 24 benches. 10 of the structures are 5’ x 18’ and 1 of the structures is 10’ x 20’, structures <br />can have single or double end supports as needed to meet wind codes. Structures will be secured <br />to the concrete pier deck. Structures shall consist of anodized aluminum framing and decorative <br />roof panels in a wave configuration or other seaside theme, vertical clearance shall be 7’-6”. All <br />hardware shall be stainless steel. No electric or water is required. Decorative benches shall be <br />aluminum and can be with a back or backless and have a seaside theme and discourage loitering. <br />Benches shall be 6’ long and anchored to the pier deck. A combination of different design options <br />may be submitted for evaluation. There is no estimated project budget for this project, the contract <br />will be awarded based on a combination of best decorative style and pricing meeting the City’s <br />vision. <br /> <br />3.2 REQUIREMENTS OF THE CONTRACTOR <br /> <br />Contractors interested in performing these services must exhibit considerable relevant experience <br />with this type of work, and should emphasize both experience and capability of particular personnel <br />who will actually perform the work. All Architects, Engineers and General Contractors must be <br />licensed by the State of Florida and maintain certification as and be in good standing with the <br />Department of Business and Professional Regulations. Contractors should demonstrate that they <br />have experience working with decorative pavilion structures, preferably for government. The <br />selected contractor will be responsible for obtaining City of Sunny Isles Beach Building permits <br />necessary for the construction of the projects. Contractor must have at least (5) years of similar <br />structural experience over the past 10 years of similar size, nature and complexity as requested <br />within this RFP, with a construction amount exceeding $50,000 and provide evidence of same <br />using the Project Verification Form provided herein. <br /> <br />The project services shall include but not be limited to the following: <br /> <br />1. Contractor to supply drawings and calculations and obtain a building permit. <br /> <br />2. Contractor to fabricate one pavilion for approval prior to full production. <br /> <br />3. Contractor or Manufacturer to furnish 11 turn-key pavilions and 14 benches to be <br />brought to the site in assembled modules or site assembled depending on size fully
