MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> Between <br /> THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br /> And the <br /> State of Florida <br /> DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL REGULATION <br /> Division of Florida Condominiums,Timeshares, and Mobile Homes <br /> This no-cost Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is entered into between the State of <br /> Florida, Department of Business and Professional Regulation, hereinafter referred to as DBPR, <br /> and the City of Sunny Isles Beach, hereinafter referred to as City, (collectively, the"Parties"). <br /> WHEREAS, DBPR's Division of Florida Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes <br /> (CTMH) has an Office of the Condominium Ombudsman, pursuant to section 718.5012, Florida <br /> Statutes; <br /> WHEREAS, it is the mission of the Office of the Condominium Ombudsman to improve the <br /> quality of life for Florida condominium owners through prompt, professional and courteous <br /> service as a neutral, informative and accessible resource; <br /> WHEREAS, the public-at-large would benefit from having greater proximate physical access to <br /> the Office of the Condominium Ombudsman; and thus; <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, DBPR and City agree as follows: <br /> 1. Purpose: The DBPR, acting in its capacity as the statewide regulator of condominium <br /> associations, and the City hereby enter into this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) <br /> for the DBPR's Ombudsman's weekly use of office space ("The Premises") at City's <br /> Sunny Isles Government Center, located at 18070 Collins Avenue, Sunny Isles Beach, FL <br /> 33160. <br /> 2. Terms and Conditions: <br /> a. DBPR shall provide a representative from Office of the Condominium <br /> Ombudsman (the "Representative") to exercise its Powers and Duties as <br /> enumerated in section 718.5012(10), Florida Statutes, for the benefit of both City <br /> residents and non-residents ("Services") from the Premises commencing on <br /> November 5, 2020; <br /> b. The Representative, as available, shall maintain regular office hours from the <br /> Premises every other week, either on the Monday or the Friday of a given <br /> calendar week; <br /> c. The Parties agree to maintain a joint calendar, wherein both Parties maintain <br /> access, for the purpose of coordinating and scheduling meetings; <br /> Page 1 of 4 DBPR Contract#20-00018 <br />
