Russo, City Manager <br />Bill Evans, Assistant City Manager <br />April 1, 2014 <br />RE: Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Negotiate a Contract with <br />The Weitz Company for Construction Management Services for <br />Gateway Park <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Staff is recommending the City Commission approve the attached resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />Although a professional service, the City has the benefit of a previous RFQ issued in <br />2012, which resulted in (7) seven construction management companies responding. <br />The Weitz Company was one of the seven respondents to provide Construction <br />Management Services for Gateway Park. The Weitz Company has broad and diverse <br />experience in construction and is particularly well suited to perform these services for <br />the City. As with many complex and large projects, Construction Management Services <br />are needed to insure the final project meets or exceeds contract requirements for <br />construction of the project.
