RESOLUTION NO. 2020 - 3011- 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER TO THOMPSON PUMP & MANUFACTURING FOR THE PURCHASE OF THREE (3) WATER PUMPS, IN A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND THIRTY-FOUR DOLLARS ($125,034.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS,the City is in need to of water pumps for emergency use during flooding events throughout the City; and WHEREAS,the City wishes to purchase three (3) water pumps ("Goods") from Thompson Pump & Manufacturing ("Contractor"); and WHEREAS, the Florida Sheriff's Association issued Bid No. FSA19-VEH17.0 ("Bid") and awarded contracts to numerous vendors including Contractor; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the City's procurement code provisions, purchases made under state,county or other governmental contracts,or competitive bids with other governmental agencies are exempt from the City's competitive bidding procedures; and WHEREAS, the City desires to issue a purchase order to Contractor, using the discount pricing provided by Contractor to the Florida Sheriff's Association via its Bid response; and WHEREAS, Contractor is a certified and insured company with the necessary experience to provide the desired Goods; and WHEREAS, staff requested a proposal from Contractor utilizing the pricing and fixed discounts provided for in the Florida Sheriff's Association Bid; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to issue a purchase order to Thompson Pump & Manufacturing to provide three (3) water pumps as more particularly described in Exhibit "A", in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand Thirty-Four Dollars ($125,034.00); NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Purchase Order. The City Commission hereby approves the issuance of a purchase order with Thompson Pump & Manufacturing to provide three (3) water pumps as more particularly described in Exhibit "A", in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand Thirty-Four Dollars ($125,034.00); Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to issue a purchase order with Thompson Pump & Manufacturing. Section 3. Further Authorization of the City Manager.
