CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES (CCNA) NO. 20-07-01 <br />16 <br />City of <br />Approach to Construction Engineering and Inspection Services <br />We further understand that we will serve as the City’s Representative, and our role will involve construction observation <br />of the work performed by various Contractors, assistance to City’s staff with preparation and review of project <br />documentation, and providing professional, technical and administrative staff resources that can be called upon as <br />needed to satisfy the various project requirements as well as assistance with decisions during construction. Specifically, <br />our project work will include but may not be limited to the following categories of services as outlined in the RFQ: <br />• Contract administration, inspection, and materials sampling and testing <br />• Administer, monitor, and inspect Construction Contracts <br />• Post Construction and Other Related services <br /> <br />Also, we understand that the Construction management and Administration services will include performing work <br />activities, such as: <br /> Conduct a pre-construction meeting with the Contractor, Consultants and the City. Prepare and distribute meeting <br />minutes. <br /> Assist Contractor with outside agency coordination, including possible relocation of utilities and coordination at the <br />end of the project for permanent power and meter setting. <br /> Provide a Field Representative as necessary to perform site observations of Contractor’s work per construction <br />contract drawings during the construction period. Prepare and provide Field Reports for each visit to the project <br />site. <br /> Conduct weekly construction meetings between Contractor, Consultants and the City during the construction period. <br />Prepare and distribute meeting minutes. <br /> Review Contractor’s project construction schedule and request/review schedule updates as necessary. <br /> Review and approval of submittals and shop drawings. <br /> se to <br /> Review and respond to Contractor’s Requests for Information. <br /> Process and distribute all Materials Test data. <br /> Review, recommend and prepare minor field change directives, construction change directives and proposed <br />Change Orders as requested by the City or the Contractor. <br /> Contractor’s pay applications for correct quantities and completeness per the City’s requirements. Provide written <br />payment recommendations for the Contractor’s monthly pay applications and the final pay application. <br /> Review and approve Contractor’s as-built drawings and record drawings for conformance with the contract <br />documents and design intents. <br /> Perform a Substantial Completion walkthrough with the Contractor, Consultants and the City. Prepare and distribute <br />substantial completion statement and associated punch list. <br /> Perform a Final Completion walkthrough with the Contractor, Consultants and the City. Prepare and distribute a <br />completion statement. <br /> Assist in project closeout, including review for conformance with contract requirements (review of Operations & <br />Maintenance Manual, spare parts, training and others per the Construction Contract General Conditions. <br /> Assist the Contractor with all applicable permits close out. <br /> Formally advise the City of circumstances that may compromise the Project’s schedule and budget. <br /> <br />CONSTRUCTION SERVICES <br />It is our understanding that the selected consultant is to provide full construction management/inspection services <br />during the construction phase of the project. If these services are requested, a Project Manager with administrative <br />and field inspection staff will be dedicated to the City. Key Members of the engineering experts team would provide <br />technical support on an as-needed basis. Typical services that would be provided include: <br /> <br />1) Conducting pre-construction conferences <br />2) Review and approve shop drawings <br />3) Address contractor generated RFI’s
