BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) <br />The City of Miami is using the Miami Forever Bond to fund a series of projects that will improve five of the City’s most <br />pressing needs categories: Sea-Level Rise and Flood Prevention, Roadways, Parks and Cultural Facilities, Public Safety <br />and Affordable Housing. Wantman Group, Inc. (WGI) was retained by the City to provide civil engineering services for <br />roadway and drainage improvements at four locations throughout the City. RADISE was subcontracted by WGI to provide <br />Geotechnical Engineering services to aid in the design of the roadway and drainage improvements for the four sites. <br /> <br />RADISE provided geotechnical engineering testing, as well as soil analysis and recommendations. Services provided <br />included standard penetration test (SPT) borings, asphalt cores, auger borings, and open-hole exfiltration tests in general <br />accordance with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) procedures. Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) was <br />required including signage and flagmen. In addition, the collected soil samples retrieved from the roadway borings, were <br />visually classified using the Soil Classification System of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation <br />Officials (AASHTO), in general accordance with American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) A limited laboratory <br />testing program was assigned and performed to identify soil index properties and the environmental classification for the <br />site. <br />RADISE prepared a Geotechnical Report summarizing the field testing data, discussing the subsurface soil and <br />groundwater conditions, and presenting our conclusions and recommendations for construction of the proposed roadway <br />in accordance with FDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. <br />25.
