BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) <br />RADISE provided Construction Inspection and Materials Testing <br />Services for or this project for the rehabilitation of Herbert Hoover Dike, <br />a 143-mile series of levees and structures surrounding Lake Okeechobee. <br />The work included the demolition of existing Culverts 11 and 16 and <br />placement of new cast-in-place concrete culvert structures with gates and <br />control systems and restoring the embankment; demolition of existing <br />Culverts 4A and 3 and the reconstruction of new structures; and <br />rehabilitation structure replacements for Culverts 5A and 5. <br />The field exploration/testing and laboratory testing included soils testing <br />for embankment components, structural concrete sampling and testing <br />and asphalt monitoring and testing. Structures work included <br />providing quality control services during concrete placement and <br />casting of the building components. <br />Services included a substantial role in inspection and oversight <br />of earthwork tasks. RADISE provided construction material <br />testing including soil and concrete, inspection and specialized <br />testing for cutoff wall, and engineering support for other project <br />related geotechnical and material testing issues. RADISE <br />provided geotechnical design and construction <br />recommendations, oversight of embankment construction, <br />culvert construction, sheet piles and dewatering systems. <br /> 25.
