CHECCHIA <br />Project Manager <br /> <br />EXPERIENCE <br /> <br />Mr. Checchia is a Geographic Discipline Leader for Subsurface Utility <br />Engineering Services (SUE) for Maser Consulting PA. He has over 2- <br />decades of South Florida experience in transportation engineering, <br />surveying, and construction related fields, with expertise in SUE and <br />Utility Coordination. His duties include the management and <br />supervision of the day-to-day operations of all SUE tasks and Utility <br />Coordination assignments in Florida. <br /> <br />Mr. Checchia maintains a strong rapport with local utilities and <br />municipalities assisting clients with utility research, identification, data <br />management and coordination. His high level of expertise and <br />understanding of the Quality Levels defined with the ASCE Guideline <br />38, “Standard Guidelines for the Collection and Depiction of Existing <br />Subsurface Utility Data”, enables him to manage projects from <br />concept to design and through construction, identifying utility impacts, <br />developing mitigating strategies, providing timely and cost effective <br />solutions. <br /> <br />Mr. Checchia has substantial experience working for the Florida <br />Department of Transportation (FDOT). As a former technical <br />delegate for FDOT District IV Survey & Mapping Advisory <br />Committee, he helped develop new field procedures and deliverables <br />for statewide projects for Utilities and Survey. He has a <br />comprehensive knowledge of the FDOT Utility Coordination process, <br />and his philosophy is to maintain an open and productive dialogue <br />throughout the initial SUE investigation; utility coordination, and post- <br />design follow up to ensure utility commitments and project obligations <br />are successfully accomplished. <br /> <br />PROJECTS <br /> <br />Everglades Island, Island Road, Town of Palm Beach <br />Palm Beach County, FL <br />Provided subsurface utility designating and locating services. Quality <br />Level “B” horizontal designation services included the marking of <br />conductive and non-conductive utilities and structures on the surface. <br />Quality Level “A” vacuum excavation services will be mapped and <br />placed in a geo referenced cad file with a test hole summary report <br />providing coordinates, depth of cover, type, size and material. <br /> <br />Overhead Utility Conversion from Hillsboro Inlet to Terra Mar <br />Drive, City of Pompano Beach <br />Broward County, FL <br />Provided up to 600 test holes to assist the design engineer with <br />exposing existing utilities in order to assist with the design corridor <br />and minimize potential conflicts for the proposed undergrounding of <br />existing overhead facilities.
