The project location is the area <br />bounded by NW 187th Street to the north, NW 179th Street to the <br />south, NW 7th Avenue to the west, and NW 2nd Avenue to the <br />east, including state roads NW 183 Street and NW 2nd Avenue. The <br />project includes the following main elements: <br /> »±22,450 LF of 8-inch ductile iron water main and pipe fittings <br /> »±12,060 LF of 12-inch ductile iron water main pipe and fittings <br /> »±1,050 LF of 6-inch ductile iron water main pipe and fittings <br /> »±560 water service conversions from rear of property to front of property <br />The scope also included: all required giant gate valves and fire hydrant assemblies; tapping <br />connections of various sizes to existing mains including tapping sleeves and valves; in-line <br />water main connections to existing mains of various sizes; air release valve and flushing valve <br />outlet assemblies; milling and resurfacing of existing asphalt pavement; placing existing water <br />mains out of service upon completion of work; traffic control; installation and restoration <br />of pedestrian curb ramps and installation of detectable warning surfaces, temporary and <br />permanent replacement of any utilities, pavement, sidewalk, curb and gutter, valley gutter, <br />traffic circle roundabout, tree, landscaping, sod, pavement markings, and/or driveway damaged <br />by construction and all other appurtenant and miscellaneous items and work for a complete and <br />fully functional installation. <br />Additionally, the project involved permitting both <br />on private property and within the right-of-way, to <br />include City of Miami Gardens and Florida Department <br />of Transportation (FDOT) roadways. The D/B Team <br />developed a procedure with WASD to execute the water <br />meter conversion, with considerable time spent analyzing, <br />developing, and testing the mechanism by which the <br />portion of the water meter conversions within private <br />property could be finalized.
