After a public referendum to issue a General <br />Obligation Bond was passed by the City of Hollywood, Florida voters in 2004, along with a <br />$100,000 grant from Broward County, the City engaged Saltz Michelson Architects to master <br />plan the 12.24 acre site, create a new 10,195 square foot community center with full kitchen, <br />and redevelop the sports park into a contemporary state-of-the-art facility. <br />The new sports park contains a baseball field, multi-use regulation soccer/football field, 2 <br />intramural soccer fields, a skate park, tot lot, outdoor play area, covered seating areas, outdoor performance stage, concession/ <br />toilets and storage building, along with the community center, all illuminated for nighttime use. In addition the existing 55 parking <br />spaces were increased to 152.
