In the past, our staff have provided in-kind services that enabled the USACE to re-establish Lido
Key as a federal project and to develop a federally authorized and funded shore protection project, which includes fill placement
and coastal structures. We assisted the City with the permitting and coordination for the federal Lido Key Hurricane and Storm
Damage Reduction (HSDR) Project and are currently providing construction administration support for this project, which is
currently being built utilizing a Big Sarasota Pass borrow source. As part of the coordination and permitting for the Lido Key
HSDR Project, our biologists assisted the City and USACE as part of the project team designing and permitting a seagrass
mitigation project to offset impacts to seagrass in the borrow areas. We are currently working with the City to coordinate the
planting of a 3.2 acre seagrass mitigation site.

25.
