PROJECT OWNER'S INFORMATION
Miami -Dade County Public Schools
24. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND
Modular Building Program
These 11 projects were aimed to add as many student stations as
possible to existing school campuses while minimizing the impact
of the addition on available playing fields and other areas of high
importance. The student stations were added with the
construction of a Prototypical Modular Classroom Building
(designed by another A/E) developed by Miami Dade County
Public Schools (M-DCPS) to alleviate overcrowding, Due to the
limited site conditions on several of the project sites, the program
required the removal and replacement of existing buildings,
shelters, playground equipment and playfields. In conjunction with
the additions and renovations, access and verification of utility
services, including electrical, sanitary and fire sprinkler services,
were carefully considered with upgrades to Fire Alarm and Public
Address Systems. Parking needs were investigated and dealt with
accordingly. Parking Spaces were added to satisfy the increased
number of staff personnel that resulted from the addition of the
Modular Buildings. The scope also included providing mechanical
buildings with emergency generators, new prototype replacement
shelters, new walkways connecting existing buildings with new
constructions, playground equipment, new playfields, and
irrigation systems (where necessary). All of these scopes were part
of our Site Adaptation Contract.
Size: Varies
Cast:$500,000.00 - $2,000,000.00 Average Cost per Project for
the scope of the work of Site Adaptation that was under contract
with the firm.
305-995-1446
25.
