CGA coordinated with the Town,
and applicable utilities and agencies, and conducted a carbon inventory through the
ICLEI ClearPath™ software and established the emissions baseline for the Town.
CGA developed a Climate Action Plan for the Town containing feasible, tangible
planning policies and actions relating to operations, codes, coordination and public
outreach. CGA created a Climate Crisis document outlining the current and projected
conditions and projections by time frame; a local and regional overview; a review of
shocks, stresses and vulnerabilities; a resource list; and strategic next steps to aid
the Town in defining where they want to be how they will get there. The document
is intended and structured to be a functional tool and serve as a living document to
update as Town measures are implemented and projected conditions are updated.
The Climate Crisis documented also incorporated a Town Beach Dune Report,
that was separately conducted, that outlined the beach renourishment history and
future proposals; current ownership and management structure; current applicable
regulatory structure; dune functions and bests management practices; flora and
fauna considerations; and beach use BPMs and regulations; to aid the Town in
ensuring this protective asset is appropriately managed.
CGA also coordinated with the University of Miami LU_Lab that contributed a
Community Action Tool Kit for inclusion in the Climate Crisis document.
123
