FDEP contracted with CGA to provide survey, civil engineering, permitting,
bid document preparation, and construction administration and Inspection services
for this project.
Due to the location of an existing building and the County’s requirement for the
minimum width of a roadway there were unavoidable direct impacts to 0.07 acres
of highly regulated mature mangrove habitat. CGA environmental staff conducted
all the site assessments and obtained environmental permits from Miami-Dade
Environmental Resource Management, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the South
Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) and obtained an exemption letter
from the Miami Dade Shoreline Development Review Committee. CGA coordinated
with FWS on concerns for impacts to the endangered Florida Bonneted Bat and
coordinated the purchase of mitigation bank credits for the mangrove impacts. The
project required a cumulative impacts analysis for the SFWMD.
X
X
X X
125
