MIAMI-DADE COUNTY RELEVANT PROJECT EXPERIENCE, continued
Bal Harbor Jetty Improvement Project, Miami-Dade County, Florida. Mr. Bennett was the Principal Engineer for the Geotechnical Engineering Services for the Bal Harbor Jetty Improvement Project. The improvements include stairs, supported walkways, and cantilever walkways. Provided a geotechnical engineering report including geotechnical evaluations and recommendations regarding shallow foundations, drilled shaft capacity analyses, driven pile axial capacity, concrete pile installation, dynamic pile driving analysis, test pile program, lateral stability and soil parameters, and construction considerations including site preparation procedures, site clearing, shallow compaction and engineering fill, and footings.
Miami River-Miami Intermodal Center Capacity Improvement project (MR-MICCI), Miami, Florida. The MR-MICCI project will provide an additional mainline track within the South Florida Rail Corridor from north of the Hialeah Market Tri-Rail Station to north of the Tri-Rail Miami Airport Station located within the Miami Intermodal Center. The project also includes replacement of the existing bascule bridge over the Miami River with a new fixed double track bridge to be installed to the west of the existing bridge. Other improvements include upgrade to the railroad PTC signals and dispatch system and six at-grade roadway railroad crossings. Improvements to the existing Hialeah Market Tri-Rail Station includes the removal of the existing platform and construction of a new 400-foot center platform passenger boarding area with a continuous canopy and at-grade pedestrian crossings. TSF is performing the drilled shaft analyses for the new bridge over the Miami River, foundation analyses for the platform, SPT borings for the proposed crash walls, cantilever signs and corridor improvements, recommended seasonal high along the corridor, and geotechnical recommendations for the design and construction of the proposed structures.
Dolphin Stadium Ultimate All Electronic Tolling (AET), Miami-Dade County, Florida. TSF provided geotechnical engineering services for the Dolphin Stadium Ultimate AET, located in Miami-Dade County. The project is to convert the Dolphin Stadium Interchange to a full AET and included widening / reconstruction and milling and resurfacing of ramps and removal of concrete pavement. Construction also includes toll equipment structures, toll equipment building and ITS (CCTV) Pole. Provided a roadway soil survey report which included geotechnical evaluations and recommendations regarding Roadway (ramp) widening, pond excavations, permanent cut and fill slopes, excavations, groundwater control, on-site suitability, resilient modulus test, and monitor of existing structures. Additionally, provided a geotechnical engineering report which summarized the field and laboratory data generated, the subsurface conditions encountered and geotechnical recommendations for the design of Toll Equipment Structures, Toll Equipment Building, and ITS Pole along with construction considerations.
SR 821 (HEFT) Widening from north of SW 40th St. (Bird Road) to SR 836 (Dolphin Expressway),
Miami-Dade County, Florida. TSF provided geotechnical engineering services and is currently providing Bridge Pile Inspections; Auger Cast Pile Inspections; Drilled Shaft Inspections; Spread Footing Inspections; Vibro-compaction Inspections and Foundation Certifications for the Design-Build project which includes the design, widening and reconstruction of SR 821 from North of SW 40th St. to SR 836, in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The project includes widening the HEFT to include three (3) general purpose lanes and two (2) express lanes in each direction in addition to auxiliary lanes; Completion, widening and/or replacing of 9 bridges; access to the new express lanes; Construct operational and safety improvements at several Interchanges; modifications to the existing toll gantry; and Installation of new toll gantries, tolling infrastructures and toll facilities. The project also includes installation of CCTV poles, CIP Walls, Signal Mast Arms, Noise Walls and Overhead Signs.
