The project also included school flashers on mast arms at five school approaches. The purpose of the study was to provide Geotechnical input to the design team to assist in evaluation of the merits of the potential mast arm installations. Field work included SPT borings. Groundwater levels were measured at the time of drilling. Visually classified and stratified the samples in the laboratory using the ASTM Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) and performed a limited laboratory testing to establish the soil properties. The laboratory testing included grain size analysis, moisture content determination, organic content tests, and corrosion test. Prepared Geotechnical Report summarizing the course of study pursued, field data, subsurface conditions, and recommendations regarding foundation design and drilled shaft construction. Completed on time
and within budget in 2016
West Atlantic Avenue and Florida's Turnpike Intersection Improvements, Palm Beach County,
Florida: Performed a geotechnical engineering study for the roadway improvement project at West Atlantic Avenue and Florida’s Turnpike Intersection.
