(L.Y.E) is pleased to present this Letter of Transmittal to offer the <br />professional engineering services required for structural engineering services and construction inspection <br />services (CEI) for the City of Sunny Isles Beach. <br />Lakdas/Yohalem Engineering, Inc. (L.Y.E) is a medium sized professional structural and civil engineering <br />firm that has been in operation in South Florida since 1970 headquartered in Broward County. We have <br />provided professional engineering services to the tri-county area for over half a century. This includes city <br />and local Government building facilities, seawalls, bulkheads, water and wastewater treatment plants, <br />water control structures and solid waste complexes. Also, we provide marine and bridge engineering <br />services. <br />Our firm has completed over 4,500 projects with over 1,800 commercial and public buildings, 12 major <br />water and wastewater treatment plants, 46 water control pump station structures, 84 marinas and major <br />seawall projects during the past 50 years in the US and several islands in the Caribbean Basin. We are also <br />State of Florida Certified Threshold & Special Inspectors. We have three licensed Professional Engineering <br />including the principal of the firm, Lakdas Nanayakkara and two additional staff members. We also have <br />in-house state certified general contractors who have in depth knowledge of design, inspection and <br />constructability of water and wastewater treatment plant projects. L.Y.E. offers a variety of inspection <br />and Engineering Design services which include threshold and site inspections, feasibility studies, design <br />and condition survey of structures, damage assessments and restoration, value engineering, <br />constructability and peer review. <br />We have performed similar Engineering services for various public entities such as: <br />City of Fort Lauderdale Broward County <br />City of Hollywood City of Lauderhill <br />Palm Beach County City of Pompano Beach <br />It is our understanding that the referenced contract requires professional Structural Engineering services, <br />design, permitting and inspection services and Construction Engineering Inspections (CEI). Our portfolio <br />of projects has included at a minimum of water treatment plants, community parks, marinas, educational <br />re-roofing, bridges, seawalls, municipal complexes, fire rescue and beach safety complexes and piers. <br />Page 4
