The fourth-generation terminal includes advanced intermodal busing and luggage handling facilities, allowing passengers the ease of checking luggage once with the airline or hotel and routing it directly to their final destination.
In 2019, BEA was once again selected to renovate Port Canaveral’s Cruise Terminal 8 which includes the design of three new additions, adding approximately 27,115 SF to the existing building. The new additions will include a Disney-themed front plaza that features living green sculptures of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto, over a lush floral garden that surrounds an iconic sculpture of Steamboat Willie. The additions also include a covered entry canopy and two covered baggage sorting areas, with a 8,200-SF entry hall. Passengers’ arrival will be enhanced with a new extended additional 300-LF covered drop-off zone, a new 1,200-SF check-in area and a new concierge area. BEA is adding a new 7,800-SF baggage screening building. BEA has expanded the mail room to a total of 1,300-SF to make the communications at the port easier. Waiting areas will also be updated with modern water side restrooms and will feature a larger seating area that will include 1,000 seats to accommodate larger passenger flows. BEA has also worked with Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. for the coordination of a new gangway building integration, site and wharf lighting. The estimated project cost is $39.6 million.
Canaveral Port Authority Ms. Veronica Narvaez-Lugo (321) 783-7831 ext. 428
