Our experience spans from the design of additional parking at existing facilities, as in the Sunrise Athletic Complex, to master planning a major facility like Holliday Park. We have experience working on historic sites such as the improvements to the Old Davie School House, which included the creation of one acre of Florida wetland, have worked on marinas, fishing piers and boat ramps. We have also designed Fitness Trails and Multi-Use Trails in Davie and Southwest Ranches. For the City of Lauderhill, we designed lighting improvements for several parks. Many of the projects included the paving and grading, upgrade of water, sewer and drainage facilities as well as procuring all the necessary permits. We have also prepared design-build criteria packages for comprehensive park improvements, preparing and selecting specifications for benches, courts, pavilions, bleachers, garbage receptors, and miscellaneous appurtenances. We have designed multiple pedestrian bridges including Mc Donald Park for the City of Hialeah and designed and inspected the pedestrian/bicycle trail for the City of Doral. We make ourselves available to meet in the public’s best schedule hours and at their preferred locations. We have performed public information programs for the FDOT on our highway projects. We can prepare materials for presentations including digital presentations, boards, handouts, etc. and have scheduled public meetings, workshops, and meetings with officials, politicians and general public. In our previous projects, we have worked with staff members from different departments, service centers, constructions, operations, etc. and have successfully completed tasks in close coordination with staff. We have prepared Community Awareness Plans and Public Involvement Plans for sensitive projects. These plans identify the project stakeholders, community representatives, and City, County, and local officials. The plan also identifies the need for meetings, whether individually, in groups, or public meetings/workshops and the action plan. These meetings then should be included as part of the project schedule. Public Sector Engineering/Grant and Funding Assistance RJ Behar has extensive knowledge with public sector engineering. We have assisted with the preparation of State and Federal grant applications as well as the reporting requirements associated with the program management of different types of grants. RJ Behar has provided funding assistance to the City of Lauderdale Lakes, the Town of Southwest Ranches, Town of Davie, Town of Medley, City of Miramar, among others. We have assisted in obtaining Florida Department of Transportation Local Agency Program (LAP) certifications. As an example, RJ Behar assisted the Town of Davie in obtaining FDOT certification for Local Agency Program (LAP) funding for town capital projects.
