The park’s existing community center will be enlarged and
modernized to better accommodate family celebrations, community events, and resident meetings. Carpark space will be increased, and the
existing playground will be redesigned and replaced with state-of-the-art equipment and safe, manmade materials better suited for children’s
well-being. Current plans include
easier, more direct access to each area, new lighting, repositioning tennis courts, expanding the dog park, adding ADA approved play
apparatus, stationed outdoor exercise paths, picnic pavilions, restrooms, and additional parking spaces. To retain a sense of its farmstead
origins, Windmill Park will be dotted with rustic accents, such as a corral fencing entry reminiscent of the Johns’ home. As an additional scope
to the project, the administration spaces were moved to the second level of existing park building and the downstairs area converted to a
Tennis Pro Shop and storage, the existing restrooms were renovated and a closed lift secure elevator to the existing building.
c.
(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State) Fire Station No. 107 (Miramar, FL) (2) YEAR COMPLETED
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES 2017
CONSTRUCTION (If Applicable) 2018
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE [X] Check if project performed with current firm
Miramar Fire Station #107 is a three-bay, 14,127 SF facility on a 2.4-acre site, designed for maximum efficiency as well as administrative and
existential needs of its firefighting and rescue personnel. The Restroom Facility was updated and waterproofed, A Kayak Building was added for storage of rafts and
other beach equipment. Its location, so near to the inlet, has some of the best na tural and well-preserved beaches in South Florida in addition
to a fully operational marina and accented by the Dania Beach Pier and the Quarterdeck Restaurant. This provided a particular challenge as
the buildings had to maintain their integrity to be able to withstand the ever-present elements (wind, sand, sun), while adhering to the Mid-
Century Modern vernacular of the City.
e.
(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State),
98th Street Park (Bay Harbor Islands, FL)
(2) YEAR COMPLETED
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES 2013 CONSTRUCTION (If Applicable) 2014
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE [X] Check if project performed with current firm
Winters Park has been a long time coming. It’s also the first out of the
town’s five parks to offer public restrooms, with added baby changing stations to both the men’s and women’s restrooms. Ten new tr ees were
added to the park and dog area, which will provide more shade over time.
STANDARD FORM 330 (1/2004) PAGE 2
