origins, Windmill Park will be dotted with rustic accents, such as a corral fencing entry reminiscent of the Johns’ home. As an additional scope
to the project, the administration spaces were moved to the second level of existing park building and the downstairs area converted to a
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE [X] Check if project performed with current firm
SRS participated in Phase One of the process which focused primarily on-site improvements, organizing signage, and creating a sense of place
for the Dania Beach Ocean Park. The Restroom Facility was updated and waterproofed, A Kayak Building was added for storage of rafts and
other beach equipment. Its location, so near to the inlet, has some of the best na tural and well-preserved beaches in South Florida in addition
to a fully operational marina and accented by the Dania Beach Pier and the Quarterdeck Restaurant. This provided a particular challenge as
the buildings had to maintain their integrity to be able to withstand the ever-present elements (wind, sand, sun), while adhering to the Mid-
Century Modern vernacular of the City.
town’s five parks to offer public restrooms, with added baby changing stations to both the men’s and women’s restrooms. Ten new tr ees were
added to the park and dog area, which will provide more shade over time.
