These meetings should communicate safety violations discovered during safety inspections; <br />accidents, injuries, and "near misses;" new or unusual exposures to employees or to the public; <br />and a safety message relating to the operations. Safety meetings should allow for employee <br />input and discussion. <br />In addition to the weekly safety meetings, brief "tailgate" meetings are to be conducted prior to <br />each shift to discuss the hazards expected to be encountered that day. The attendance <br />documentation is included in this plan. <br />At the end of the workweek, each employee is to complete the "No Accident Certification" <br />which is included in this plan. <br />Motor Vehicle and Driver's Safety <br />This policy is effective for all company owned/leased vehicles, and any driver using the vehicle, <br />including rented vehicles, on Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service business. While operating <br />a motor vehicle on company business, Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service employees must: <br />1. Be a safe and courteous driver. <br />2. Obey all applicable traffic regulations at all times. <br />3. Have in their possession a valid Florida driver's license. <br />4. Have a valid certificate of auto liability coverage. <br />5. Wear seat belts at all times. <br />6. Ensure that all passengers we <br />a seat belt at all times. <br />7: Verify that vehicle safety equipment is present in their vehicle and is in good working <br />order, including, but not limited to, flashlights, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits. <br />8. Report missing or defective safety equipment to management and obtain replacement <br />equipment before driving the vehicle. <br />9, Submit to a breathalyzer or other drug and alcohol testing request from law <br />enforcement authorities. <br />10. Report any traffic citations received from local authorities to their supervisor within 24 <br />hours of receipt. <br />11. Report any motor vehicle accident involving a Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service <br />vehicle immediately to their supervisor. <br />12. Maintain vehicles in a clean and orderly condition. <br />While driving a motor vehicle on company business Superior Landscaping and Lawn Service <br />employees are prohibited from: <br />1. Disabling any safety device including seat belts and air bags. <br />2. Carrying passengers in vehicles unless those passengers are Superior Landscaping and <br />Lawn Service employees with legitimate business reasons for being in the vehicle. <br />3. Allowing any unauthorized personnel to drive Company vehicles at any time. <br />4. Overloading and/or overcrowding vehicles. <br />5. Picking up hitchhikers. <br />6. Operating motorcycles on Company business. <br />16 <br />
