�4Y Of SUN Pt' <br />local codes. <br />The Contractor shall be selective in herbicide application procedures to control invasive plant <br />species and assure survivability of mangroves and native species. Invasive species are defined as <br />plants included on the FDEP's List of Prohibited Aquatic Plants, the Exotic Pest Plant Council's List <br />of Florida's Most Invasive Species (latest edition). Herbicide application will be performed by a <br />Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) licensed commercial applicator <br />certified in Aquatic Pest Control application and Right of Way. All herbicide applications must be <br />supervised by a certified herbicide applicator. Any herbicide solution shall comply with all applicable <br />regulations in accordance with FDEP and Miami -Dade County Department of Regulatory and <br />Economic Resources (DRER) and the manufacturer's label at all times. Obtain agency authorization <br />before using herbicides in a mangrove area. Due to the sensitivity of these areas, a Professional <br />Mangrove Trimmer (PMT) or ISA Certified Arborist shall be on site to monitor the maintenance in <br />these areas. Contractor is responsible for avoiding adverse impacts to mangrove root systems and <br />seagrass. The removal of invasive non-native plant material shall not defoliate, remove or destroy <br />mangroves. Contractor is responsible for maintenance and safe operation of all necessary <br />equipment at all times. <br />1.11 TREE & PALM MAINTENANCE <br />All pruning shall be in accordance with the American National Standards Institute ANSI A-300 <br />standards and practices. Tree maintenance must be under the direct supervision of an ISA certified <br />-arborist. A tree maintenance schedule developed by an ISA certified arborist shall be provided to <br />the City in writing within (14) days after award of contract as part of the Maintenance and Service <br />Plan. An ISA certified arborist shall be available for tree health inspections and tree maintenance <br />recommendations when requested by the City. All work shall be performed by workers trained in <br />accordance with ANSI Z133.1 safety regulations as required by OSHA. Maintain integrity of original <br />design when trimming. Cuts shall be made with sharp and proper tools. On trees or palms known <br />to be diseased, disinfect tools after each cut and between trees. Prune only at the time of season <br />proper for the variety. Pruning of trees and palms shall only take place after notifying the City. All <br />tree, palm and shrub pruning is included in this Contract. The Contractor shall maintain integrity <br />of original design when trimming and shall not box plants whose habits of growth do not lend <br />themselves to this type of trimming. The Contractor shall not use a machete for trimming and no <br />plant material shall be trimmed using weed eaters. The contractor shall haul away all trimming <br />debris from site, and properly dispose of at Contractor's expense. <br />1.11.1 TREES <br />Prune, thin, and trim all trees once per year, to keep the trees healthy, to maintain the <br />natural character of the variety, to control shape and to prevent crowding. Pruning shall <br />consist of the removal of dead, broken, fungus infected, superfluous and intertwining <br />branches, vines, and the removal of dead or decaying stumps and other undesirable <br />growth. Selectively prune all mature trees over 20' height and adjacent to walks and <br />vehicular areas to a minimum of 12' of clear trunk, and maintain minimum of 8' clear trunk <br />for all other trees in accordance with Tree Care Industry Association and Miami -Dade <br />County standards and practices.
