<br />CTA Project No. 19-0035-001-01 01040-1 Golden Shores Street Lighting <br />October 12, 2020 SIB Bid No. 20-09-01 <br />SECTION 01040 - COORDINATION <br /> <br /> <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 THE REQUIREMENT <br />A. The Contractor shall allow the CITY or his agents, and other project Contractors or their <br />agents, to enter upon the work for the purpose of constructing, operating, maintaining, <br />removing, repairing, altering, or replacing such pipes, sewers, conduits, manholes, <br />wires, poles, or other structures and appliances which may be required to be installed at <br />or in the work. The CONTRACTOR shall cooperate with all af oresaid parties and shall <br />allow reasonable provisions for the prosecutio n of any other work by the CITY, or others, <br />to be done in connection with his work, or in connection with normal use of the facilities. <br />B. The CONTRACTOR shall cooperate fully with the CITY, the ENGINEER, and all other <br />Contractors employed on the work, to effect proper coordination and progress to <br />complete the project on schedule and in proper sequence. Insofar as possible, decisions <br />of all kinds required from the ENGINEER shall be anticipated by the CONTRACTOR to <br />provide ample time for inspection, or the preparation of instructions. <br />C. The CONTRACTOR shall assume full responsibility for the correlation of all parts of his <br />work with that of other Contractors. Each CONTRACTOR'S superintendent shall <br />correlate all work with other Contractors in the laying out of work. The CONTRACTOR <br />shall lay out his own work in accordance with the Drawings, Specifications, and <br />instructions of latest issue and with due regard to the work of other Contractors . <br />1.02 COORDINATION OF DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br />A. Before starting any Work, CONTRACTOR shall review all Drawings and Specifications and <br />immediately report to the ENGINEER, in writing, any errors, discrepancies, and/or <br />omissions discovered. <br />B. Where differences are discovered between Drawings and Specifications or within either <br />document itself, CONTRACTOR shall notify ENGINEER and request interpretation or <br />decision before proceeding with the Work. ENGINEER, on behalf of CITY, will have final <br />decision regarding such item and manner in which the Work is to be installed and such <br />decision will be final. Otherwise, CONTRACTOR shall include the item or arrangement of <br />better quality, greater quantity, or higher cost in Bid Price. <br />C. CONTRACTOR shall compare Drawings and verify dimensions, clearances and the like <br />before laying out Work and will be held responsible for conflicts that might have been <br />avoided by such verification. <br />D. Drawings are diagrammatic and indicate general arrangement of systems and work <br />included in the Contract. CONTRACTOR shall notify ENGINEER of discrepancies <br />before proceeding. <br />1.03 COORDINATION OF UTILITY ADJUSTMENTS/INSTALLATIONS <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for fully coordinating with utility companies/ <br />agencies any work required in relation to the removal, relocation or other adjustment of <br />utility services existing in the area of construction. Existing utilities and appurtenances <br />shown on the Drawings were located from existing records but no guaranty is made that all <br />existing facilities are shown or that those shown are entirely accurate.
