CTA Project No. 19-0035-001-01 16450-2 Golden Shores Street Lighting <br />October 12, 2020 SIB Bid No. 20-09-01 <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 GENERAL <br />A. Grounding shall be in compliance with NFPA 70 and ANS I C2. <br />B. Ground electrical service neutral at service entrance equipment to supplementary <br />grounding electrodes. <br />C. Ground each separately derived system neutral to nearest effectively grounded building <br />structural steel member or separate grounding electrode. <br />D. Bond together system neutrals, service equipment enclosures, exposed non-current- <br />carrying metal parts of electrical equipment, metal raceways, ground conductor in <br />raceways and cables, receptacle ground connections, and metal piping systems. <br />E. Shielded Power Cables: Ground shields at each splice or termination in accordance with <br />recommendations of splice or termination manufacturer. <br />F. Shielded Control Cables: <br />1. Ground shield to ground bus at power supply for analog signal. <br />2. Expose shield minimum I inch at termination to field instrument and apply heat <br />shrink tube. <br />3. Do not ground control cable shield at more than one point. <br />3.02 WIRE CONNECTIONS <br />A. Ground Conductors: Install in conduit containing power conductors and control circuits <br />above 50 volts. <br />B. Nonmetallic Raceways and Flexible Tubing: Install an equipment grounding conductor <br />connected at both ends to non current -carrying grounding bus. <br />C. Connect ground conductors to raceway grounding bushings. <br />D. Extend and connect ground co nductors to ground bus in all equipment containing a <br />ground bus. <br />E. Connect enclosure of equipment containing ground bus to that bus. <br />F. Bolt connections to equipment ground bus. <br />G. Bond grounding conductors to metallic enclosures at each end, and to in termediate <br />metallic enclosures. <br />H. Junction Boxes: Furnish materials and connect to equipment grounding system with <br />grounding clips mounted directly on box, or with 3/8 -inch machine screws. <br />3.03 GROUND RODS <br />A. Install full length with conductor connect ion at upper end. <br />B. Install with connection point below finished grade, unless otherwise shown. <br />3.04 CONNECTIONS <br />A. General: <br />1. Above grade Connections: Use either exothermic weld or mechanical -type <br />connectors.
