RFQ No.20-10-01 Professional Engineering and Architectural Services for Pedestrian Bridge with Park Elements Across A1A at 174th St. CCNA.
City of Sunny Isles Beach
|17
PROJECT UNDERSTANDING & APPROACH D
STARLIGHT
To enhance the look of the bridge in the
evening for pedestrians walking or waiting for
the elevator, the underside will have a unique
set of lights imitating starlight. An added
feature unique to Sunny Isles Beach.
A LIGHT TOUCH
Using a “V” pier for the bridge allows for a
better use of space at ground level while also
increasing views. With the use of glass, the
elevators will blend with the surroundings
and the bridge. They will be designed to
accommodate cyclists and first responders
with stretchers.
STEEL + COLOR
The bridge will use steel as its structural
material for its durability, strength and ease
of maintenance. Using a three coat paint
system that minimizes fading and protects the
underlying paint layers, the aesthetics will be
enhanced while allowing the paint coatings to
last well over twenty years.
EASY ACCESS
A floating deck will be used for easy access.
Modular elements allows for easy and cost
effective repairs, upgrades, and replacements.
2
2
3
1
A Bold & Elegant Crossing
321STEEL BOX GIRDER
STEEL OUTRIGGER
CONCRETE DECK
8’ GLASS RAILING
NATIVE PLANTINGS
ENGINEERED SOIL
DRAINAGE PAN
WATERPROOF MEMBRANE
COLOR CHANGING LEDS
UTILITIES
CONDUITS(WATER,
ELECTRIC, DRAINAGE)
STEEL FRAMING
STEEL PLATE WITH “STAR
LIGHT” PUNCTURES
WOOD DECKING
