RELEVANT PROJECTS <br />a. <br />1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State) NW 102nd Avenue Roadway Improvements, Hialeah, Miami-Dade County, FL <br />2) YEAR COMPLETED <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES 2019 - Ongoing CONSTRUCTION (If applicable) N/A <br />(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE Check if project performed with current firm Smart-Sciences is providing environmental permitting services and contamination assessment services to the portion of NW 102nd Avenue between NW 162nd Street and NW 170th Street within the City of Hialeah proposed for roadway improvements as part of the Countyline Corporate Park development. Smart-Sciences prepared and submitted permit application packages with regulatory agencies. Ms. Orozco assisted in preparing the permit application packages and coordinating with the regulatory agencies. In addition, Smart-Sciences conducted a Phase I ESA identifying contamination issues of concern along the corridor. Ms. Orozco conducted the online file review and prepared the Phase I ESA report. The primary concern found was adjacent landfill sites. Ms. Orozco prepared a groundwater sampling plan and coordinated with Miami-Dade County Pollution Remediation Section for approval. The plan includes the installation of four groundwater monitoring wells to be sampled for Ammonia, Nitrates, Sulfate, Total Dissolved Solids, Aluminum, Arsenic and Iron. Ms. Orozco assisted with the groundwater sampling efforts for the Phase II. <br />b. <br />1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State) Pipeline Retrofits & In-line Inspections – 25 Miles of Jet Fuel Pipeline from Homestead to Miami International Airport, Miami-Dade County, FL <br />2) YEAR COMPLETED <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES 2019 CONSTRUCTION (If applicable) N/A <br />(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE Check if project performed with current firm Smart-Sciences, Inc. (Smart-Sciences) provided environmental services to E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc. (E2) for the Pipeline Retrofits & In- <br />line Inspections for the 25 Miles of Jet Fuel Pipeline from Homestead to Miami International Airport, Miami-Dade County, Florida. Smart- <br />Sciences conducted desktop screening for the utility right-of-way (ROW) to identify waterbodies, wetlands, protected ecosystems, contaminated <br />sites, listed species habitat and cultural/historical resources. Ms. Orozco conducted multiple Environmental Compliance Inspections for <br />Stormwater Erosion and Sediment Control. Ms. Orozco drafted reports to identify erosion control issues and document compliance with <br />applicable permits and permit conditions associated with each dig site. <br />c. <br />1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State) Little River Canal Ecological Due Diligence & Acoustic Bat Survey, Miami, Miami-Dade County, FL <br />2) YEAR COMPLETED <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES 2018 CONSTRUCTION (If applicable) N/A <br />(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE Check if project performed with current firm Smart-Sciences provided Ecological Due Diligence and a Florida Bonneted Bat (FBB) Preliminary Assessment for a 0.54-acre site. Little River <br />Canal project is part of MDC Public Works Department bridge replacement. The Ecological Due Diligence was performed in order to assess the <br />project area for presence of wetlands, trees that would require a removal/relocation permit, submerged aquatic vegetation, as well as listed <br />species habitat and use. Ms. Orozco assisted in conducting pedestrian evening acoustic bat surveys and assessment of potential FBB habitat <br />to determine if the FBB is utilizing the project zone for roosting and/or foraging. She also conducted an online review for potential contamination <br />around the project area and assisted in preparing technical reports. Miami-Dade County requested a Site Assessment Report (SAR) to be prepared for the Site based on the Site’s <br />history.
