MPT Plan CC Jose Bofill, Michelle Olender, Brad PROJECT Sunny Isles Beach Pedestrian Bridge Malmsten NAME ASR DESCRIPTION MPT Plan ASR BACKGROUND & SCOPE Based on preliminary feedback from both the FDOT and the peer review engineer related to FDOT expectations, we have concluded that the design team must develop the Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Plans (MPT) prior to selection of a contractor. Thornton Tomasetti, Inc. (TT) is pleased to submit this Additional Service Request (ASR) to provide expanded Engineering Services for Sunny Isles Beach pedestrian bridge (the project). We propose to complete the additional scope on a time and materials basis. We understand the scope of services to include: Single -Lane. Double -Lane and Total Roadway Closure The project crosses over Florida State Road Al (Collins Avenue) which is a major thoroughfare in southern Florida. It is our anticipation that the construction of the project will involve single -lane, double -lane and total closure of Al in order to facilitate construction. In close coordination with the sequencing drawings TT is producing, we anticipate the following lane closure drawings (working from left to right facing north): • SB left lane single -lane closure for support tower work adjacent to the west curb line and cladding of the bridge over the left lane. We anticipate this work during normal daytime hours. • SB center and right lane double -lane closures for temporary shoring tower work in the median and cladding of the bridge over the center and right lanes. We anticipate this work during nighttime hours. • SB right lane single -lane closure for ancillary work in the median. We anticipate this work during normal daytime hours. • NB left lane single -lane closure for ancillary work in the median. We anticipate this work during normal daytime hours. • NB left and center lane double -lane closures for temporary shoring tower work in the median and cladding of the bridge over the left and center lanes. We anticipate this work during nighttime hours. • NB right lane single -lane closure for support tower work adjacent to the east curb line and cladding of the bridge over the right lane. We anticipate this work during normal daytime hours. • Total closure of the NB and SB roadways for the delivery and installation of the precast structure. We anticipate this work during nighttime hours, along with a detour in place to utilize 178th Street, Atlantic Boulevard and 183rd Street. • Partial and total closure of the sidewalk for ancillary construction as needed. Pedestrian detour plans will be included. • Temporary closure of the crosswalk at 179th Street as needed to facilitate construction.
