Project Name: Town of Surfside, Hardings Ave, Surfside, FL Contract Method: Competitively awarded RFP Company Role: Prime contractor Project Description and Scope: MCL has provided the town of Surfside with holiday lighting and decor since 2015 through piggyback contracts MCL had been awarded. The town wanted to continue to increase their project scope beyond what piggybacking allowed and issued an RFP to challenge local vendors to create an enchanted holiday environment for their main area of commerce along Hardings Avenue. MCL's design team was excited for the opportunity and began researching the community to create a unique design tied to the history of the town. Equally important to the design was the commitment to installation and execution of the project. The town put as much emphasis on execution as it did design vision. The town board knew their electrical system was fussy and the electrical strategy and installation had to be perfect or the project would be consumed with constant maintenance issues. MCL presented our design vision including over 130 wrapped trees, custom designed and fabricated crystal spheres and Art Decor monument displays. MCL also created an in depth electrical, installation, and maintenance plan to show the town how we would execute the project, should it be award. The town unanimously voted to award the RFP to MCL, beating out several other vendors. The key to MCL successful bid for this project, as all vendors presented similar budgeted projects, was MCLs extensive knowledge of the town's electrical system and detailed installation and maintenance plan. Our knowledge of the property was gained over the five years of successful installations, allowing the MCL team to have the electrical design, installation, maintenance plan, and required assets to complete the project on time and within budget.
