RESOLUTION NO. 2021- <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO SIGN OR RENEW ALL REQUIRED CONTRACTS, <br />AGREEMENTS, AND PURCHASE ORDERS THAT AFFECT THE <br />HEALTH, SAFETY, OR WELFARE OF THE CITY, DURING THE <br />SUMMER RECESS PERIOD FROM THE LAST CITY COMMISSION <br />MEETING IN JULY 2021 THROUGH THE FIRST REGULAR <br />COMMISSION MEETING IN SEPTEMBER 2021, SUBJECT TO AFTER - <br />THE -FACT RATIFICATION AT THE SEPTEMBER 16, 2021, CITY <br />COMMISSION MEETING; REQUIRING LEGAL REVIEW BY THE <br />CITY ATTORNEY FOR SAID CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach City Commission is not scheduled to meet between <br />July 16, 2021, and the next regular meeting on September 16, 2021; and <br />WHEREAS, there may be new or existing contracts that require approval during the time <br />period between the last City Commission meeting in July 2021 and the first regular meeting in <br />September 2021; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to assign certain powers to the City Manager <br />to enable him to sign all required contracts, agreements, and purchase orders that affect the <br />health, safety, or welfare of the City, during the time period between the last City Commission <br />meeting in July 2021 and the first regular meeting in September 2021, and requiring legal review <br />by the City Attorney for said contracts and agreements prior to execution by the City Manager; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager will report back to the City Commission at the first <br />regular City Commission meeting on September 16, 2021, seeking after -the -fact ratification of <br />any actions relating to the foretasted authorization. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: <br />Section 1. Authority of City Manager and City Attorney. The City Manager is hereby <br />authorized to sign or renew all required contracts, agreements, and purchase orders that affect the <br />health, safety, or welfare of the City during the summer recess period, from the last City <br />Commission meeting in July 2021 through the first regular City Commission meeting in <br />September 2021, subject to after -the -fact ratification at the September 16, 2021, City <br />Commission meeting, and requiring legal review by the City Attorney for said contracts and <br />agreements prior to execution by the City Manager. <br />Section 2.
