RESOLUTION NO. 2014 - qq A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING AN IN -KIND DONATION TO ONE BLOOD, INC. TO UTILIZE THE PARKING LOT OF THE GOVERNMENT CENTER TO HOST BI- MONTHLY BLOOD DRIVES, IN AN ANNUAL ESTIMATED VALUE OF NINE HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS ($960); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION: PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, One Blood, Inc. offers bi- monthly blood drives to the community in a mobile unit; and WHEREAS, this mobile service brings the convenience of donating blood for our residents to the City as a donation center is not located within the City, and donation days are marketed through City notices and publications; and WHEREAS, although parking at the Government Center is free, the value of the in -kind donation is based on ten (10) parking spaces at $2.00 per hour for eight (8) hours each visit, six (6) times per year; and WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach wishes to provide an in -kind donation for use of the parking lot of the Government Center by One Blood, Inc., in an annual estimated value of Nine Hundred Sixty Dollars ($960.00). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Donation. The City Commission hereby approves the donation of in- kind support for One Blood, Inc. to utilize the parking lot of the Government Center to host bi- monthly blood drives, in an annual estimated value of Nine Hundred Sixty Dollars ($960.00). Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date.
