Russo, City Manager <br />DATE: 6/19/2014 <br />RE: Resolution Approving an Agreement with Ronald L. Book, Esq. for <br />Professional Legislative Relations and Lobbying Services <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is recommended that the City Commission approve this item. <br />REASONS: <br />Since 1998, the City has contracted Ronald L. Book, Esq. for the provision of <br />professional legislative and lobbyist services. Mr. Book has performed well with <br />securing grant monies from State and County agencies and assisting with other <br />legislative matters. With Mr. Book's help, the City has realized a total of one <br />million dollars in State funding for the Gateway Park and the 174th Street <br />Drainage Project from this past legislative session in Tallahassee. Due to these <br />facts, the City requests that Mr. Book continue to provide legislative relations and <br />lobbyist services. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br />The contract amount is for $60,000.
