An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida,Amending <br /> Ordinance No.2013-412;Amending the City's Budget No.BA1314-04 for the 2013-2014 <br /> Fiscal Year—General Fund,Street Construction/Maintenance Fund,Capital Projects <br /> Fund, and 2010 Capital Projects Fund; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things <br /> Necessary to Implement the Terms and Conditions of this Ordinance; and Providing for an <br /> Effective Date. <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Finance Director Audra Curts-Whann said this <br /> amendment is for some items previously approved by the Commission that had to be <br /> formally recorded as budget amendments, such as the grant previously received, a donation <br /> by the Dezer family for the playground at Intracoastal Parks,and some minor housekeeping <br /> transfers between accounts. <br /> Commissioner Scholl moved and Commissioner Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br /> proposed Ordinance on first reading. The motion was approved by a roll call vote of 5- <br /> 0 in favor. Second reading,public hearing will be held on Thursday,May 15,2014, at <br /> 6:30 p.m. <br /> Vote: Commissioner Gatto yes <br /> Commissioner Levin yes <br /> Commissioner Scholl yes <br /> Vice Mayor Aelion yes <br /> Mayor Edelcup yes <br /> 7B. An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Amending <br /> Chapter 265, Article IX, "Sign Regulations" to Clarify that Electronic Signs are <br /> Permitted in Government Facilities Located in the City; Providing for Severability; <br /> Providing for Inclusion in the Code; Providing for Repeal of Conflicting Provisions; and <br /> Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Deputy City Manager Stan Morris reported that <br /> this Ordinance is based on the request from the City Advisory Committee (CAC) for <br /> electronic signs. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Mayor Edelcup asked for the definition of"changeable"as it relates to these electronic signs, <br /> and Deputy City Manager Morris said"changeable copy"means that the information on the <br /> sign has to remain static for 24 hours. <br /> Vice Mayor Aelion moved and Commissioner Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br /> proposed Ordinance on first reading.
