ORDINANCE NO. 2021- 513 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, AMENDING THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO PROVIDE FOR THE STATE OF FLORIDA MANDATED REQUIREMENTS FOR A TEN- YEAR WATER SUPPLY FACILITIES WORK PLAN BY AMENDING THE INFRASTRUCTURE ELEMENT, THE CONSERVATION ELEMENT, THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL COORDINATION ELEMENT, THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT ELEMENT; PROVIDING THAT A TRANSMITTAL AND ADOPTION PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD; PROVIDING FOR ADOPTION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") initially adopted its first Water Supply Facility Plan pursuant to Ordinance No. 2009-330 passed and adopted on July 16, 2009; and WHEREAS, Section 163.3177 (6) (a), Florida Statutes, requires coordination of the local Comprehensive Plan with the South Florida Water Management District's regional water supply plan; and WHEREAS, Section 163.3177 (6) (c) Florida Statues, requires local governments to update its 10- Year Water Supply Work Plan ("Work Plan") and to amend their comprehensive plans within eighteen (18) months after the water management district approves a regional water supply plan or its update; and WHEREAS, Lower East Coast Water Supply Plan Update was approved by the South Florida Water Management District, therefore, local governments within the South Florida Water Management District Lower East Coast jurisdiction are required to amend their comprehensive plans within the referenced timeframe; and WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, has carefully prepared amendments to its Comprehensive Plan pursuant to Section 163.3177 (6) (c), Florida Statutes, in order to adopt amendments or revisions in conformance with the adopted Work Plan; and WHEREAS, the City Commission, upon first reading of this Ordinance, desiFes te authorized transmittal of the updates of to the 10 -Year Water Supply Plan Update along with amendments to the current comprehensive plan to guide and control the future development of the City to the State Department of Economic Opportunity and its Fed as to "' pFemete aod pFeteethe publie health, safety --and welfare, for the purpose of review in accordance with Chapter 163, Florida Statutes; and WHEREAS. the City Commission, sitting in its capacity as the Local Planning Aency pursuant to Chapter 57 of the City's Code of Ordinances, has reviewed this Ordinance, and recommended its approval: and Additions to existing text are shown by underline, changes to existing text on second reading are shown by double underline, and deletions are shown as strikethFeugh. 02021 Water Supply Plan 2021 2nd Rdg Page 1 of 3
