See Conservation Policy 2M <br />and Intergovernmental Coordination Policy 3Y, 9b}estive g and Pelieies 5A., 59. and 5G among <br />others. <br />All water conservation programs and incentives, current and future, implemented by the NMB <br />Public Utilities Department will support the goals and objectives of the 2018 Lower East Coast <br />Water Supply Plan Update implemented by the South Florida Water Management District. The <br />City's water conservation program will also conform to Florida Statute 62-40.412 — Water <br />Resource Implementation Rule: Water Conservation. <br />NMB Water has a developed and formalized a preventive maintenance (PM) plan each vear <br />(2018 and 2019) and is in the process of improving their PM Plan to improve maintenance and <br />asset reliability, including addition of: <br />• Maintenance mission, vision, and values <br />• Maintenance and reliability principles <br />• Planning and scheduling <br />• Predictive maintenance <br />NMB Water updated its Water Conservation Plan in 2014. The Citv's water conservation <br />program continues to develop and implement educational, operational, financial and <br />regulatory best management practices (BMP) that promote the most efficient use of the regions <br />natural water resources and the utility's allocated water supplies. All BMPs are implemented to <br />achieve one or more of the following goals: <br />• Reduce and/ or control per capita water demands <br />• Reduce and/ or control peak water demands <br />• Low unaccounted for water loss <br />• Greater accountability for water produced/sold <br />• Overall efficient development of existing watersupplies and infrastructure <br />• Extend functional life of utility infrastructure <br />• Lower treatment, energy and capital costs <br />• Utility revenue stability <br />• More effective drought response <br />• Improved consumer confidence and awareness <br />• Educating customers of all ages <br />Other programs that promote and support the water conservation programs of NMB Water are <br />discussed below and are supported by the City of Sunny Isles Beach. <br />Showerhead Exchange Program <br />NMB Water implemented a voluntary, residential retrofit BMP that encourages customers to <br />trade in old showerheads for new, high -efficient showerheads, faucet aerators and other items <br />that promotes water efficiency. <br />16 <br />
