protect the region's water supply resources and coordinates the implementation of state water <br />regulations and policies through local water planning efforts and water supply services. <br />For informational purposes, NMB Water has cooperated and coordinated with numerous other <br />public agencies in order to accomplish: <br />• The first alternative water supply and treatment facility in the County. <br />• A 20 -Year Consumptive Use Permit (CUP) from the SFWMD with commitments for <br />additional alternative supply and treatment. <br />• An award winning conservation program that is continuing to press forward on both <br />"Demand Management" and "Corrective Actions such as leak detection and <br />automated meter reading (AMR). <br />• An expanded water treatment site available, rezoned, and large enough to meet all <br />future water supply and treatment demands for at least 20 years. <br />In this update of the original Water Supply Plan, the City has reviewed its water supply related <br />Objectives and policies and updated them as necessary. Changes to the Objectives and policies <br />are outlined in Section 6.0. Policies are included which detail coordination efforts with the City <br />of North Miami Beach, MDWASD and SFWMD. As a retail customer, the City must coordinate the <br />adequate supply of water and conservation practices with the referenced agencies. In its capacity <br />as a water supplier to the City of Sunny Isles Beach, NMB kt4it-¢ Water, is made aware of all new <br />development and redevelopment of properties located within the City and ensures adequate <br />water capacity. As such, the City coordinates with NMB Ut4ity Water in development permitting <br />and capacity allocations and through the resources provided by ""i-affli °^a^" NMB Water. <br />Additionally, any Comprehensive Plan amendments affecting densities and intensities is <br />submitted to North Miami Beach. <br />The result of this LOS coordination is that the City through NMB „may Water has been able to <br />provide its residents and businesses the water resources they need in the most efficient and <br />effective manner possible. In doing so, the City has been able to effectively maintain its adopted <br />level of service for potable water. <br />Moreover, by coordinating with NMB U44y Water on the implementation of the Work Plan <br />Update outlined in the North Miami Beach 2015 2020 10 -Year Water Supply Facilities Work Plan <br />Update, adopted june 16, 201S December 15, 2020 the City will continue meeting these needs. <br />Through this coordinated effort, the City will be able to ensure that the water demands of both <br />current and future residents and business are met. <br />21 <br />
