Florida) <br />FDOT, District 4 <br />BMA CONSULTING ENGINEERING Prime MIRAMAR, FLORIDA <br />The primary purpose of this project is to improve connectivity of SR 820/Pines Boulevard / Hollywood Boulevard from east of <br />US-27 (MP 0.100) to east of Young Circle (MP 18.394) through the implementation of bicycle lanes, pedestrian paths, and <br />traffic improvements. <br />The FDOT District 4 Office of Modal Development in partnership with the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization <br />(BMPO), the Cities of Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, and Miramar have identified improvements that once implemented will <br />enhance connectivity and mobility to SR 820/Pines Boulevard/Hollywood Boulevard. These improvements can be <br />summarized as follows: <br />* Mill and resurface the existing pavement (1 inch). <br />* Widening to accommodate proposed 5-ft. bike lanes. <br />* Construct new curb ramps and upgrade some existing curb ramps to comply with ADA requirements. <br />* Construct ADA accessible ramps to existing sidewalks. <br />* Adjust intersection turn radius. <br />* Reduce existing intersection return radius. <br />* Adjust water valves, storm drain and utility manholes within the limits of milling and resurfacing, minor widening, etc., as <br />necessary. <br />* Construct new sidewalks. <br />* Provide standard bike lanes pavement markings and signs on all new bike lanes routes. <br />* Restripe pavement markings. <br />* Install new crosswalks and standard pedestrian features. <br />* Install rectangular flashing beacons and advance crosswalk warning signs. <br />Size: 18 miles. <br />Construction cost: $18M <br />Casey J.
